    What is Tag and Search?
Tag and Search is a feature of Capsyl that makes it easier to search and organise your photos. Search for your favourite animals, label your friends and family in photos, and create albums of your best memories. The tag and search feature also helps us customise photo stories for you and personalise your experiences in Capsyl.

Note: There are two distinct capabilities of the feature: (i) object tagging, and (ii) facial data tagging, which we discuss below in the following: Objects: By signing up for Capsyl you acknowledge that Tag and Search object tagging is provided as a matter of course. This provides functionality to enable you to tag objects in your photos, making it easier for you to search and organise your photos.

Facial Data: Please note that the Capsyl Service will only collect and process facial data, namely facial vectors if you choose to opt-in using the functionality provided. As applicable, if you have opted-in to use the Tag and Search facial data feature, you can opt-out at any time using the functionality provided to opt-out and the above facial data is deleted from the Service.

Note: this feature is not available in all locations. Based on the state or country where the photo was taken (if location information is available for that photo), certain photos may not appear in a search result or in a People album you want to name.

How can I search my photos with Tag and Search?
      1. Go to your photos in the Capsyl app and tap the Search icon at the top of the Screen.
      2. Enter an object or thing that you would like to search for in your photos (e.g., dog, baseball, beach, etc.). You will see all the photos that are recognised by the feature as containing that object or thing.

Does Tag and Search recognize faces in photos?
If you opt-in using the functionality provided, Tag and Search can also apply face recognition technology to your photos to detect faces and look for recognisable patterns to identify people. Then it can group photos of the same person together in your People album.

You can also add names to each person in your People album. These names are private to your account, even if you share your photos with others. Your People album lists the grouping of people in your photos.

Note: When you opt-in to Tag and Search, you are enabling the facial data capability of this feature, allowing us to utilise face recognition technology to create face models of you and persons in your photos, and you’re letting us know that you have the permission of others in your photos.

How do I turn on Tag and Search for Facial Data? As a new user, when you open your Capsyl app, you will be asked for permission to turn on the Tag and Search feature for your Capsyl account.

If you tap Agree, the feature’s face tagging capabilities will be turned on and you can start using it. You will see the Search icon at the top of the screen when viewing your photos and videos. You will also see your People album in the Albums section of the app.

If you tap Not Now, or if you do not see the Tag and Search invitation screen when you open the Capsyl app, you can always turn it on at a later time using the following steps:
      1. Go to Settings in the Capsyl app.
      2. Tap Tag and Search.
      3. Tap the Tag and Search switch to turn the feature on (it is green when on).

Note: this action cannot be reversed.

Can I turn off Tag and Search?
You can opt-out of the facial data capability of Tag and Search, but if you disable this capability of the Tag and Search feature, all tags and face labels (including the face models) associated with your photos will be deleted. If you turn Tag and Search back on again, you will have to re-apply names to each person in your People album. To turn the facial data capability of Tag and Search off:
      1. Go to Settings in the Capsyl app.
      2. Tap Tag and Search.
      3. Tap the Tag and Search switch.

The Tag and Search switch will turn grey for 24 hours, showing your tags and face labels are being deleted. During this time, you will not be able to turn the facial data capability of Tag and Search back on again.

After 24 hours, the switch will turn white, and you will be able to turn this capability of Tag and Search back on by following the same steps above.

What is the desktop application dashboard, and how do I access it?
The Capsyl Desktop Dashboard provides you with key information regarding the desktop client including what content has been transferred to/from the Capsyl Cloud. It can be accessed by opening the application from the system tray.
How do I access my local Capsyl Sync folder on the desktop?
You can access your local Capsyl Sync content by clicking on the “Open Capsyl Sync” button on the top of the desktop application dashboard.
How do I view and manage all my files inside the Capsyl Cloud?
You can access all the files that have been synced/uploaded from all your devices by clicking the “Launch Web” button on the top of the desktop application dashboard.
How does the automatic upload of files work?
Any files present in the Capsyl Sync folder, or any folders configured for “Backup” will be automatically uploaded. The application will monitor the local file system for any new files or modifications made in these folders and will push any updates to the Capsyl Cloud.
How can I stop content syncing to/from my computer?

      What is BackTrack?
BackTrack is a tool that lets you restore all your files from a specific day in the past (up to 30 days previous).

BackTrack protects your files so they can be:
        • Recovered after a virus, ransomware, or other malware attack that infected or deleted your files.
        • Restored if corrupted or lost.
        • Accessed to get a historical version of your files.
      How does BackTrack work?
BackTrack finds the latest file versions from the end of the specified date and copies it to create a new version. Thus, the latest version of each file is restored to what it was at the end of the specified date. If no version of a file existed on the end of the specified date, the file is moved to the Trash.
How do I run BackTrack to restore my files to an earlier date?
        1. Open the Capsyl desktop application from the system tray, and then click on the ‘BackTrack’ icon.
        2. Select the repository that you want to BackTrack.
        3. Select the date that you want to BackTrack to.
TIP: Use the graph to help pick the date. If you see a spike in changes that you do not recognize, choose an earlier date to BackTrack from.

Note: You cannot BackTrack to a date before the repository was created!
        4. Confirm that the repository and date are correct.
        5. Click BackTrack and wait until the BackTrack is complete.
        6. The application will then sync the restored files to your device.
How do I use BackTrack to recover from a ransomware or virus attack?
We are sorry this happened to you.

        1. On each device where Capsyl is installed, we recommend deleting the corrupted files:
        a. Log out of Capsyl.
        b. Delete the folders that Capsyl is backing up or syncing.
        c. Make sure that the device is cleaned of the virus or ransomware.
        2. Run BackTrack on every repository that was affected by the attack and restore to a date before the attack.
When all repositories have been BackTracked, log back in to Capsyl on each device so that it syncs the restored files to your devices.
